To Go, Boldly

We have lift-off on my website! And it feels as strange as it does exciting.

​

As a former journalist I’m used to seeing my name and words online and in print. I once fell over trying on trousers in a shop changing room, startled by my own voice as it bellowed an advert over the loudspeakers for the radio show I presented at the time.

​

But this feels different. It is different. The very thought of setting up my own website made me feel squeamish for a while, like I couldn’t have the temerity to call myself an author yet.

​

So I wrote some early drafts, beat myself up for a while, then workshopped my ideas, honed my style and wrote a lot more. When I stepped back, I realised I had a body of work just waiting to be sent out into the world.

 

This year I will be submitting a number of short stories to science fiction and fantasy publications, while finishing the manuscripts for my first two novels. You can find out more about my projects and read samples of each in the Writing section.
